Whisper and Parakeet are downloaded once and run entirely in memory on your device. There's no server to reach, no connection to check, no fallback that silently fails when you're offline. It either works — which it always does — or it doesn't.

Whisper was built to both transcribe and translate. When you enable Live Translation, it processes your speech and outputs English in the same step — no second pass, no external API call. The result appears as fast as standard transcription.

Whisper is the most capable multilingual model available offline. Parakeet is optimised for US English and is often faster. You choose. You can switch at any time. Both run at full speed on M1 through M4 chips.

Privacy by policy relies on you trusting us. Privacy by architecture doesn't require trust at all — there's nothing to breach, nothing to subpoena, nothing to accidentally leak. Open source means you can verify this claim in the code.

A typical cloud transcription tool adds 200–800 ms of latency just for the network round-trip, before any processing happens. Local inference on Apple Silicon has no round-trip. Words appear in your text field at roughly the speed you speak them.

Tellaflow uses macOS Accessibility APIs to inject transcribed text into the focused input field. It doesn't need a plugin or integration for each app. If macOS can type in it, Tellaflow can dictate in it — which is every app.
