Privacy Policy
We don't receive your audio. Here's the full document to prove it. Last updated: April 1, 2026
The short version
Tellaflow processes your voice entirely on your Mac. We do not receive, store, or transmit your audio or transcriptions. There is no server that handles your voice data. This is not a policy — it is an architectural property of how the app works. Everything else in this document is detail.
What we collect
We collect the minimum information required to provide the app and improve it.
Anonymous crash reports (opt-in). If you opt in during onboarding, Tellaflow sends anonymous crash reports when the app unexpectedly quits. These reports contain: a stack trace, your macOS version, your chip type (e.g. "Apple M2"), and a random session ID that resets on each launch. They do not contain audio, transcriptions, app text, or any personally identifying information. You can disable this at any time in Settings → Privacy.
App download analytics. When you download Tellaflow from our website, we receive standard HTTP server logs that include your IP address and the time of download. These are used to measure download volume and are not linked to usage data.
That's it. We do not use tracking pixels, analytics SDKs, or third-party data tools in the app itself.
What we do not collect
We do not collect your audio recordings. We do not collect your transcriptions. We do not collect which apps you use Tellaflow in. We do not collect what you dictate or what language you speak. We do not maintain a user account, so we have no profile of you. We do not share any data with third parties for advertising purposes.
How voice processing works
When you dictate using Tellaflow, your audio is captured by your Mac's microphone, processed by a local AI model (Whisper or Parakeet) running in memory on your device, and the resulting text is injected into whatever app has keyboard focus. This entire process happens on your Mac. Your audio is not uploaded to any server. It is processed in memory and discarded when the session ends.
You can verify this behavior using a network monitor such as Little Snitch or proxyman. During a transcription session, Tellaflow will show no outbound network activity.
Model downloads
AI models (Whisper, Parakeet) are downloaded from our servers or Hugging Face when you first select them. The download is a standard HTTPS request. Once downloaded, models are stored locally in ~/Library/Application Support/Tellaflow/Models/ and the network is not involved in transcription. You can delete downloaded models at any time from within the app or by deleting the folder directly.
Data retention and deletion
Because we do not receive your audio or transcriptions, there is nothing for us to delete. Transcription history (if any) is stored only on your device. Crash reports, if you opted in, are retained for 90 days and then purged. To stop sending crash reports, go to Settings → Privacy and disable the toggle.
Children
Tellaflow is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us at privacy@tellaflow.app.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you via the app and update the date below. We will not change this policy to allow data collection of voice or transcription content without prominent notice and, where legally required, consent.
